Financial perspectives on the General Affairs Council agenda

On Monday 26 March, the EU General Affairs Council will discuss the new Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), that is the Union budget for 2014-2020. Permanent Representative to the European Union, Ambassador Jan Store, will represent Finland at the meeting.

The Council will have an orientation debate on specific issues prepared by officials under headings Smart and inclusive growth, Security and citizenship, Global Europe, and Administration. Horizontal issues such as the overall spending limits level will also be discussed while issues such as cohesion funding, the Connecting Europe Facility and Common Agricultural Policy will be addressed by the General Affairs Council later this spring.
