Ministers for European Affairs continue discussion on the EU's multiannual financial framework

On 10–11 June, Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb will attend an informal ministerial meeting of Ministers for European Affairs organised by the Danish EU Presidency in Horsens, Denmark.

The meeting will discuss the EU's Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), the EU's budget, for the years 2014–20. As regards the MFF, it is proposed to focus discussions on the full Negotiating Box, but leave the figures related to the overall level of the framework and the level of expenditure headings outside the debate. The discussions will centre on the MFF's qualitative elements, such as its structure and other horizontal issues. According to the Presidency, attention may also be drawn to the introduction of options concerning the outstanding unpaid commitments (reste à liquider – RAL). Negotiations on the overall level of the MFF are expected to begin in the autumn, under the forthcoming Cypriot Presidency.

In addition to the MFF, the informal meeting is to discuss green growth and growth as part of preparations of the June European Council.
