Meeting between the Government and labour market organisations

Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen and Minister of Finance Jutta Urpilainen met today on Friday the leaders of Finland’s central labour market organisations. At the meeting, all parties voiced their shared concern over how the recent global economic situation will affect Finland.

The meeting concluded that the reconciliation of economic policy and collective settlements is essential to ensure economic predictability, growth, competitiveness, purchasing power, investments and employment.

The social partners will continue discussions in order to reach agreement on future labour market policies. During early autumn, the aim is to find new ways to coordinate economic and labour market policies.
