Finland is deeply concerned about the escalation of the conflict in eastern Ukraine and strongly condemns the attacks against the civilian population of the city of Mariupol that killed and injured several people on 24 January 2015.
Finland calls upon the parties of the conflict to immediately de-escalate the situation and to observe the Minsk ceasefire agreement. Russia must, according to its international commitments, use its influence on separatists in eastern Ukraine to stop military action.
