Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Lenita Toivakka will be on a Team Finland trade mission in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, from 4 to 7 October 2015.

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Lenita Toivakka will be on a Team Finland trade mission in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, from 4 to 7 October 2015.

The Minister will lead a business delegation of over 50 people. The aim of the visit is to promote Finnish export and investments to Kazakhstan. "Finland has an excellent country brand in Kazakhstan and Finnish companies can find cooperation opportunities there in, for example, cleantech and education export sectors," Minister Toivakka tells. 

Several high-level meetings have been arranged for the promotion of Finnish companies' projects.  Minister Toivakka will chair a meeting of the Economic Commission between Finland and Kazakhstan, which will convene for its ninth session. Kazakstan's chair will be the Kazakh Minister of Industry and Trade Vladimir Shkolnik. During the visit, Minister Toivakka will also meet Minister of Investment and Development Asset Issekeshev, Minister of National Economy Yerbolat Dossayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerlan Idrissov, Minister of Education and Science Aslan Sarinzhipov and Minister of Economic Integration Zhanar Aitzhanova. The Minister's programme includes a visit to Nazarbayev University and a tour in the Astana Expo 2017 exhibition area. In addition, a Finnish-Kazakh business seminar will be organised during the visit.

The trade mission is organised in cooperation with Finpro, which is part of the Team Finland network.
