Foreign Minister Soini visits Kiev

Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini will visit Kiev, Ukraine, on 16–17 February. Minister Soini and Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin will hold bilateral discussions on Wednesday.

The meeting will focus on the bilateral relations between Finland and Ukraine, Ukraine's EU relations, and the current situation in Ukraine, as well as the implementation of the Minsk Agreement. The Ministers will also discuss other topical international questions. This is their second bilateral meeting. In December last year, they met at the OSCE Ministerial Council in Belgrade.

In addition, Minister Soini will discuss the situation in eastern Ukraine with Ertugrul Apakan, Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine. Finland is one of the big supporters of the mission with 26 observers.

During the visit, Foreign Minister Soini will also meet Hanna Hopko, Head of Ukraine's Foreign Affairs Parliamentary Committee, and Yehor Soboljev, Head of the Anti-Corruption Committee.
