Speaker of U.S. House of Representatives Boehner visits Finland

The Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, John Boehner, is visiting Helsinki from June 29 to July 1. He is accompanied by a delegation of seven House Representatives: Susan Brooks, Mike Kelly, Daniel Lipinski, John Shimkus, Michael Simpson, Ann Wagner, and Greg Walden.

On June 30, House Speaker Boehner and his delegation will meet with President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö, Speaker of Parliament Maria Lohela, and Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini, as well as several Members of Parliament. The topics of their discussions will include current foreign, security, and defense policy issues.

The Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives is the second in the United States presidential line of succession. Speaker Boehner has held this office since January 2011.
