Finnish responsibility in demand on the Chinese health market

On 17–21 October, Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services Juha Rehula will lead a Team Finland trip to Shanghai. The enterprises participating in the trip are leading Finnish experts in the fields of health technology, health services and further education.

Finnish values, like responsibility, are highly appreciated in China. The current Chinese five-year plan focuses on socially, economically and ecologically sustainable development. Responsible business activities support this focus.

The Chinese health market grows more quickly than ever before since China’s population is ageing. Demand for services and equipment for elderly people, for example, is increasing fast. Services for the elderly are needed when China wants to improve care given to older people in their own homes. In China, it’s a tradition that younger generations take care of older family members.
 
The purpose of the Team Finland trip is to open doors for Finnish companies in the huge Chinese market. At the same time, Finnish export of health and care services will get new opportunities for new partnerships and trade in China. There are already more than 400 registered Finnish companies operating in China.

During the trip, in Beijing Minister Rehula will also meet his colleague from the Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs. The Ministers will discuss, among other things, the Finnish pension reform and the current structural reform of healthcare and social welfare in Finland.
