Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Kuneva visits Finland

Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria Meglena Kuneva will visit Finland from 26 to 27 August. During her visit, she will meet with Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini, Minister of Justice and Employment Jari Lindström and Minister of Economic Affairs Olli Rehn. Kuneva has served as the first Bulgarian EU Commissioner.

The discussions will focus on EU themes. Bulgaria would like to join the Schengen area at the latest before the start of its EU Presidency on the latter half of 2018. Topical migration and refugee issues will be on the agenda. The other matters of discussion will be related to, among other things, Russia and Ukraine and the EU's global security strategy.
