Prime Minister Rinne and Minister for European Affairs Tuppurainen at the European Parliament

Prime Minister Antti Rinne and Minister for European Affairs Tytti Tuppurainen will attend the European Parliament plenary session in Strasbourg on Wednesday 17 July.

Prime Minister Rinne will present the priorities for Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU to the European Parliament and discuss these with the MEPs. During the visit Prime Minister Rinne, together with Minister for European Affairs Tuppurainen, will meet the newly elected President of the European Parliament David-Maria Sassoli. Prime Minister Rinne will also discuss with the leaders of the political groups in the European Parliament.

During Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU, Minister for European Affairs Tuppurainen will act as the representative of the Council with the European Parliament. She will speak on behalf of the Council at the European Parliament plenary sessions and answer questions posed by the MEPs to the Council.
