Prime Minister Sipilä on the speech by Britain’s Prime Minister May
According to Prime Minister Juha Sipilä, essential for Finland in today’s speech by Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May was the readiness to promote and maintain the trade relations between Britain and the European Union. “Britain is an important trade partner for Finland. It is of great significance for us that these close trade relations continue. It was also positive that May emphasised the willingness of her country to continue close cooperation with the EU in security policy and the fight against terrorism.”
According to Prime Minister Sipilä, May’s speech makes it easier for the EU and Finland to prepare for the negotiations.
