Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini will attend the World Economic Forum meeting (WEF, World Economic Forum) in Davos, Switzerland on 18–20 January 2017. The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos brings together key representatives of business life, governments, international organisations and civil society.

The theme this year is "Responsive and Responsible Leadership". The focus of Minister Soini’s agenda is on the future of Europe and on the Middle East in the broad sense. Soini is the keynote speaker at the Helsinki Policy Forum event on peace mediation, mainly concerned with stability and security in the Middle East and North Africa. He will also attend informal discussions on the Middle East together with several ministers from key countries and leaders of the UN and other international organisations.

There is also an opportunity for bilateral talks with ministers and other international actors. Bilateral meeting with Pavlo Klimkin, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, is already on Soini’s agenda.
