Government budget proposal to Parliament
On Monday 28 September, the Government submitted to Parliament the budget proposal 2016 and the general government fiscal plan for 2016-2019.
The Government proposes a budget of EUR 54.1 billion for 2016. The budget proposal is EUR 5.0 billion in deficit which is proposed to be covered by borrowing. Government debt is estimated to total around EUR 106 billion by the end of 2016, which is around 50% of GDP.

Government implementation plan
The Government's plan for the implementation of the key projects and reforms of the Government's strategic programme was also published on Monday 28 September. The implementation plan focuses on the schedule, measures and financing of the key projects and the most important structural reforms.
In 2016-2018, EUR 1.6 billion will be invested in key government projects and to reduce the repair debt.
