The Prime Ministers of the Nordic countries and India will meet in Copenhagen on Wednesday 4 May. The aim of the meeting is to strengthen and develop relations and cooperation between the Nordic countries and India.

Topics on the agenda for the prime ministers’ meeting will be the security situation in Europe, which has changed due to Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine, and India-Nordic cooperation. Topical areas of cooperation include international cooperation following the COVID-19 pandemic, climate work and sustainable development, the blue economy, innovations and digitalisation.

The prime ministers of the Nordic countries and India last met in Stockholm in 2018. Prime Minister Sanna Marin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a remote bilateral meeting in March 2021. At that time, Finland and India agreed on partnerships for sustainable development and digitalisation.

In connection with the meeting in Copenhagen, Prime Minister Marin will also have bilateral meetings with the prime ministers of India, Denmark and Norway.
