On 21January 2020, Minister of Employment Tuula Haatainen will attend the event on the future of work organised in connection with the World Economic Forum. The agenda of the event includes the publication of a study on the adaptability of the labour market, followed by a high-level discussion on its outcomes.

Besides Tuula Haatainen, the panellists include Guy Ryder, Director-General of the International Labour Organization ILO, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, Beata Javorcik, Chief Economist of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and business leaders.

“Inclusion and competence are fundamental pillars of society, and our Government Programme is strongly committed to further strengthening these. The particular topics we will raise in the discussion are the strengths we have in Finland, including our high-quality education system, comprehensive social security, and labour market system based on collective agreements. Well-functioning institutions and mutual trust contribute in significant ways to solving societal challenges,” Minister Haatainen says.
