Prime Minister Marin to attend special meeting of European Council
Prime Minister Sanna Marin will attend the special meeting of the European Council in Brussels on Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 May. The topics on the agenda will be Ukraine, energy, defence and food security.
The European Council will discuss economic support for Ukraine over the short term and in the reconstruction stage. The EU leaders will also continue their discussions on ways to break free from energy imported from Russia as soon as possible, and on strengthening the EU’s defence cooperation and developing its capabilities. The special European Council will also address the serious impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on global food security.
