In its evening session on employment policy on 29 January 2020, the Government concluded that the preparation of employment measures is proceeding as planned and in accordance with the Government Programme. By the autumn 2020 budget session, the Government must be able to show that it can put in place decision-based measures corresponding to 30,000 new people in employment.

The tripartite working groups submitted their progress report to the Government in its evening session. Preparation of employment measures for the government discussion on spending limits will continue with stronger political coordination. In addition to measures proposed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, the Government will consider in its spending limits discussion measures proposed by other ministries that are expected to have an impact on employment.

The Government also heard an expert analysis of the current status and progress of labour migration. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment will provide more information on the matter in the coming weeks.
