Defence Forces to procure ammunition for Leopard 2 battle tanks

The Defence Forces will procure ammunition for the main weapons of Leopard 2 battle tanks from Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH in Germany.

"The procurement will complement the fire power and, in particular, our ability to engage in combat against battle tanks," says Inspector of Infantry, Colonel Juhana Skyttä from the Army Command.

The overall value of the procurement without value added tax is about EUR 14.1 million and it will be financed from the second supplementary budget, which included additional funding for rapidly launched defence materiel procurements.
