On Wednesday 18 May, Minister of Finance Jyrki Katainen, charged with negotiations on forming a new government, announced the parties that will participate in the process.

Led by Katainen, the parliamentary groups of the National Coalition Party, the Social Democratic Party, the Left Alliance, the Swedish People’s Party in Finland, the Green League and the Christian Democratic Party will begin the negotiations at the House of the Estates on Friday 20 May.

Information on the programme of the government formation talks and other related arrangements will be made available on Thursday 19 May.
