Minister Kaikkonen to attend Northern Group's defence minister meeting

Minister of Defence Antti Kaikkonen will attend the meeting of the Northern Group's defence ministers on 22 May 2023 in Warsaw. The Northern Group, led by the United Kingdom, is a forum on security and defence in Northern Europe. In addition to the United Kingdom, the group includes the Nordic countries, the Baltic countries, the Netherlands, Poland and Germany.

The Northern Group's agenda for this session will include the security situation in the neighbouring areas, support for Ukraine and key NATO matters.

The meeting will be hosted by Poland. After the meeting, Sweden will take over as the chair of the Northern Group for the rest of the year.
