Minister of Defence Kaikkonen to attend defence minister meeting of EI2 countries

On 7 May 2020, Minister of Defence Antt Kaikkonen will attend a defence minister meeting of the E12 countries organised by France and Portugal. Due to the coronavirus situation, the meeting will be organised via video connection.
The ministers will discuss, among other things, the impacts of COVID19 on the defence forces of the EI2 countries, the role of different organisations in managing the coronavirus situation and the security situation in Africa.
Finland became a member of the European Intervention Initiative (EII/EI2) in 2018. Apart from Finland, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden are participating countries.
