Minister of Defence Antti Kaikkonen will attend the Nordic defence minister meeting in Kirkenes, Norway, on 11 May 2022. Norway holds the chairmanship of NORDEFCO in 2022.
The defence ministers will discuss current topics and the effects of the war started by Russia on the security situation in the neighbouring areas and the Nordic defence policy.
In addition to the defence minister meeting, Minister Kaikkonen will have bilateral meetings with Norway's new Minister of Defence, Bjørn Arild Gram and Sweden's Minister of Defence Peter Hultqvist. They will discuss defence cooperation and the current security situation.
