Prime Minister of Turkey to Finland

The Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoğlu will visit Helsinki on 6 April on the invitation of Prime Minister Juha Sipilä.

The premiers will discuss bilateral relations between their two countries, the migration situation, and the relations between the EU and Turkey. They will also touch on other key international issues, such as the situation in Turkey's neighbouring regions. In addition, the premiers will deliver opening remarks at a Finnish and Turkish business representatives' meeting organised by Finpro.

During his visit, Prime Minister Davutoğlu will also meet President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö and Speaker of Parliament Maria Lohela. In addition, Prime Minister Davutoğlu's prgramme will include a joint meeting with President Martti Ahtisaari, Minister of Economic Affairs Olli Rehn and Member of Parliament Matti Vanhanen, who have earlier been actively engaged in cooperation with Turkey.

Prime Minister Davutoğlu's delegation to Finland will include Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu who will have a meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini. 

The premiers' press conference will be broadcast live on the government website at vn.fi/live on Wednesday 6 April, starting at 12.50. The press conference will be held in English.
