Government adopted plan for analysis, assessment and research in support of decision-making
On Thursday 12 March, the Government adopted a decision on the 2015 plan for analysis, assessment and research in support of decision-making by the Government.
The aim of the plan is to create a basis for systematic and broad-based use of research data in decision making, steering and operating procedures. The plan consists of five priority areas and targeted key themes. The priority areas and research projects will be coordinated by steering groups led by the ministry in charge.
The priority areas are:
1. Promotion of Finland's competitiveness and employment
2. Public sector productivity and structural change
3. Healthy construction and community planning
4. Society's comprehensive security in a changing security environment
5. Better overview of the knowledge-base of decision making
Special attention in the application of the evaluation criteria will be paid to the relevance of the research plan with regard to the objectives of the Government’s plan for analysis, assessment and research, the focus on topical problems and solutions as well as communications. Procurement will take place through an open application procedure. The application period is to run from early April to May 2015. Information on the process will be announced later.
