The National Prize for Innovative Practices in Employment and Social Policy is awarded for the last time this spring and it got 99 applicants. The open call ended on 15 February. This year the theme was willpower.

Willpower is necessary for work communities to find the best ways to operate in the middle of the changing working life. Short presentations of the applicants can be seen (in Finnish) on the website for the prize

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra and the Finnish Work Environment Fund will choose from the applicants 5–10 workplaces to which the prize will be awarded. Even the public can vote for their favourite workplaces between 20 April and 2 May 2017. The prizes will be awarded on 9 May.

The prize is awarded to workplaces who have promoted lifelong learning, development of expertise, well-being at work and thus long working careers. One prize is worth a maximum of EUR 30,000. The award is granted by the Fund for a national prize for innovative practices in employment and social policy, and the President of the Republic acts as the patron of the prize.
