The Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Council dealing with youth, culture and sport met in Brussels on 21–22 November. The ministers focused on culture and sustainable development, the competitiveness of the audiovisual sector, the training of youth workers, digital youth work, and climate change and young people.

Minister of Science and Culture Hanna Kosonen chaired the meeting.

The culture ministers adopted a resolution on the role of culture in promoting sustainable development. They also discussed the competitiveness of the European audiovisual sector and the role of young people and youth work in mitigating climate change.

Climate change is the greatest challenge young people today face. Youth work must support climate activism and build confidence in the future.
