Nordic Ministers of Economic Affairs to discuss the economic impacts of coronavirus

The Nordic Ministers of Economic Affairs will hold a videoconference on Friday 3 April 2020 to discuss the economic impacts of coronavirus on businesses. State Secretary Kimmo Tiilikainen will represent Finland at the meeting on behalf of Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä.

The grim economic situation is having severe impact on businesses in all of the Nordic countries. The Ministers will exchange information about the measures taken to deal with the effects of the coronavirus. Their discussions will focus on various sectors including trade, industries, tourism, services and innovation companies.

The following areas will be addressed:

  • the industrial and economic situation: national support measures for businesses in the Nordic countries
  • assistance for businesses and the economy in the Nordic countries after the coronavirus epidemic
  • possible Nordic cooperation to minimise the negative economic impacts of the coronavirus epidemic

The videoconference is being held at Iceland’s initiative.
