Application period for discretionary government transfer for organisation of continuing training on international environmental law and green diplomacy

The application period will be open for universities and other organisers of continuing training until Friday 15 March at 16.00.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs will grant a discretionary government transfer for the organisation of continuing training on international environmental law and green diplomacy in 2019-2021.  The EUR 270,000 reserved for the purpose may cover at most 80 per cent of the total costs of the training.

The transfer is meant for the organisation of a continuing training course on international environmental law and green diplomacy in Finland or abroad.  The transfer will be granted for training designed for people who attend international negotiations related to environmental agreements (e.g. public officials, representatives of CSOs and researchers), which increases interaction between negotiators representing developing countries and industrialised countries. The training must strengthen developing countries' capacity, and one of the preconditions for receiving the transfer is that at least half of the participants in the training course are from developing countries.

Applications must be submitted in writing.  The Act on Discretionary Government Transfers (688/2001) will be observed in the granting, disbursement, use and monitoring of the use of the transfer. The decision to grant a discretionary government transfer will include more detailed conditions that apply to the disbursement, use and monitoring of the use of the transfer.

The application together with its appendices must be sent to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs by Friday 15 March 2019 at 16.00. Read more about the objectives of the course and the conditions relating to the application in the appendix.
