Minister Häkkänen to meet French Minister of Justice

Minister of Justice Antti Häkkänen will meet the French Minister of Justice Nicole Belloubet during her visit to Finland on Tuesday 26 February.

The Ministers will discuss Finland's upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union and topical issues in the Council of Europe. The questions to be discussed will also include election security, young offenders and prevention of radicalisation in prisons.

During her visit to Finland, Minister Belloubet will also familiarise herself with the Finnish prison service and visit Suomenlinna Open Prison. She will be presented with the Finnish system of open prisons that especially focuses on preparing the prisoners for freedom and promoting their reintegration into society.

Both Ministers will deliver an opening address at a conference on artificial intelligence and human rights to be organised at Finland Hall on 26-27 February.  The conference, Governing the Game Changer - Impacts of artificial intelligence development on human rights, democracy and the rule of law, is part of Finland's ongoing Presidency of the Council of Europe.
