Prime Minister Antti Rinne submits the Government’s request for resignation – Government to continue on a caretaker basis

On Tuesday 3 December, Prime Minister Antti Rinne submitted his Government’s request for resignation to the President of the Republic. President Niinistö approved the Prime Minister’s request for resignation and requested that the Government continue on a caretaker basis.
Prime Minister Rinne held a press conference at the Government Palace on Tuesday at 13.00.

Government in office
On 6 June 2019, the President of the Republic appointed Prime Minister Antti Rinne’s Government, which is Finland’s 75th government. Rinne’s Government is formed by the Social Democratic Party, the Centre Party, the Greens, the Left Alliance and the Swedish People's Party of Finland. The Government has 19 ministers.
