Briefing on the COVID-19 situation on 28 May
On Thursday 28 May, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare held a briefing on the disease situation, the carrying capacity of healthcare and social welfare services and the current epidemiological assessment of the COVID-19 situation.
Permanent Secretary Kirsi Varhila and Strategic Director Liisa-Maria Voipio-Pulkki from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and Mika Salminen, Director of the Department of Health Security at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare were present at the event.

Production of personal protective equipment launched in Finland as planned
On 27 May the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment held a briefing on the start of domestic production of personal protective equipment, the current personal protective equipment situation and the measures taken by the National Emergency Supply Agency to ensure a sufficient supply of protective equipment.
Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä, Minister of Employment Tuula Haatainen and interim CEO of the National Emergency Supply Agency Janne Känkänen were present at the event. Chairman of the Board of Directors Vesa Mäkipää also attended as a representative of Lifa Air Ltd, one of the companies that has begun/will begin production. The briefing was hosted by Director of Communications Mikko Koivumaa.
Under-Secretary of State Petri Peltonen and Senior Specialist Jyrki Alkio from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment were present as experts.
The Programme of Prime Minister Sanna Marin's Government "Inclusive and competent Finland – a socially, economically and ecologically sustainable society" was submitted to Parliament in the form of a Government statement on 10 December 2019.

Government in office
On 10 December 2019, the President of the Republic appointed Prime Minister Sanna Marin’s Government, which is Finland’s 76th government. Marin’s Government is formed by the Social Democratic Party, the Centre Party, the Greens, the Left Alliance and the Swedish People's Party of Finland. The Government has 19 ministers.
