Ministerial Working Groups of Marin's Government
The Government plenary session of 10 December 2019 appointed six Ministerial Working Groups. The Ministerial Working Group on Sustainable Growth in Finland was appointed on 14 January 2021 and Ministerial Working Group on developing the digital transformation, the data economy and public administration on 2 September 2021. On 30 December 2021, the Government appointed a Ministerial Working Group on Coordinating COVID-19 Response and, on 10 March 2022, a Ministerial Working Group on Preparedness.
Ministerial working groups can be entrusted with the preparatory work on certain matters or sets of related matters.
The Ministerial Working Group on Promoting Employment guides and directs the implementation of the Government Programme in the following areas: employment promotion, labour market issues, and employment legislation.

The Ministerial Working Group on Climate and Energy Policy guides and directs the implementation of the Government Programme in the following areas: goal of carbon neutrality, strengthening of carbon sinks, and decision-making on climate and energy policy. The Ministerial Working Group on Health and Social Services is responsible for guiding and directing the implementation of the healthcare, social welfare and rescue services reform and the development of services in line with the Government Programme (in section 3.6.1). It also deals with projects related to the restructuring of healthcare, social welfare and rescue services that fall within the mandate of the Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services, along with other topical issues, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The ministerial working group also deals with issues related to the new duties of the wellbeing services counties, their funding and their right to levy taxes. With regard to the sustainability roadmap, the tasks of the working group are related to achieving the roadmap’s targets for the cost-effectiveness of health and social services and their funding system and, where applicable, to achieving the roadmap’s social sustainability goals.

The Ministerial Working Group on Internal Security and Strengthening the Rule of Law discusses matters relating to the development of judicial administration, prevention of exclusion, prevention of over-indebtedness, and realisation of fundamental rights. It also discusses matters of internal security and asylum and refugee policy.

The Ministerial Working Group on Sustainable Growth in Finland's task is to oversee the preparation of the Sustainable Growth Programme for Finland and the related national recovery and rehabilitation plan financed through the EU recovery instrument, and to guide and monitor their implementation. The ministerial working group will also discuss reforms and investments related to the programme, and will address business and entrepreneurship policy issues when necessary.
