Project status

Goals and results

The tasks of the High-Level Working Group on Tourism include:
- act as an advisory expert body in a broad range of strategic issues related to the development of tourism and make proposals to ministries/the Government;
- discuss issues related to the development of tourism policy and legislation and coordinate the activities of different administrative branches in tourism development;
- promote the implementation of Finland’s tourism strategy 2025–2028 and monitor its implementation;
- monitor and assess trends in the operating environment and phenomena in the sector both nationally and globally;
- monitor and anticipate the development of tourism and the impact of measures;
- serve as a cooperation forum between different bodies.

Starting points

The project promotes the implementation of Finland’s tourism strategy 2025–2028, monitors and assesses trends in the operating environment and the phenomena in the sector, and supports the preparation of tourism policy measures. The project intensifies cooperation and dialogue between different operators involved in the tourism sector.
