  2. Business Finland to accept applications on hydrogen projects as part of the Sustainable Growth Programme - Finnish Government

    11.6.2021 | Finland will participate in creating a European value chain for the hydrogen economy (hydrogen IPCEI) and will launch a call for applications on related projects for companies. Companies will have until 4 July to present to Business Finland their projects, which are linked to European networks and which will speed up the production of clean hydrogen and the development of new uses for hydrogen.

  3. Government proposes to extend labour market support for entrepreneurs until the end of June - Finnish Government

    18.2.2021 | Entrepreneurs and self-employed persons are entitled to labour market support because of the coronavirus pandemic under a temporary amendment to the Unemployment Security Act in force until the end of March. On 18 February 2021, the Government submitted a proposal to Parliament to extend the right of entrepreneurs and self-employed persons to labour market support until 30 June 2021. The aim is to ensure the livelihood of entrepreneurs and self-employed persons during the pandemic.

  4. Ministers to prepare for the UN High-level Dialogue on Energy in thematic forums – Lintilä to take part in Innovation, Technology and Data forum on 22 June - Finnish Government

    21.6.2021 | In connection with its General Assembly, the UN will organise a High-level Dialogue on Energy in New York in September. This is the first time since 1981 that the UN addresses energy issue at this level. The aim of the meeting is to strengthen Member States’ efforts to achieve the Paris Climate Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) on energy in preparation for the COP26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow in November.

  7. Government proposal to expand employers’ right to check criminal records of people working with children - Finnish Government

    4.2.2021 | The Government proposes that employers would have the right to conduct criminal record checks on people who work with children in short-term positions. The proposal aims to promote the protection of minors. Currently, employers are only authorised to investigate the backgrounds of people who work with children longer than three months during a one-year period.
