    17.3.2021 | Tourist spending in Finland will decrease by 40–50% in 2021. If demand starts to increase in late summer, total spending is estimated to shrink by around 40%, or more than EUR 6 billion. If, however, demand starts to recover only in the winter season of 2021–2022, total spending will decrease by about 50%, or around EUR 8 billion.

  2. The relief work in Afghanistan was a major joint effort - Finnish Government

    9.9.2021 | The rescue and evacuation operation in Afghanistan was in many ways unique and historic. Finland evacuated more than 400 people from Afghanistan in three weeks. This was possible through cooperation with national and international actors and between different departments of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The relief team at Kabul Airport played a key role, but the input of dozens of people both in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Helsinki and in many foreign missions was also required.

  4. New EU Regulation on European Globalisation Adjustment Fund makes application criteria less strict - Finnish Government

    3.5.2021 | The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for Displaced workers (EGF, formerly European Globalisation Adjustment Fund) continues to operate during the EU programming period 2021–2027. Member States will now be able to apply for financial contributions on more flexible grounds in the event of redundancies. The required threshold of redundancies will also be reduced.
