19.8.2021 | The Government has approved an amendment to the decree allowing entry into Finland without the health security measures laid down in the Communicable Diseases Act. The amendment to the decree will enter into force on 23 August 2021.

29.6.2021 | On 29 June, the Government decided on country-specific changes to the restrictions on entry into Finland on the basis of the epidemiological situation. Internal border controls will be lifted for Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein and Slovakia from 1 July.

8.7.2021 | The Government has decided to continue internal border control until 25 July to ensure the introduction of health security measures at borders. After this short transitional period, internal border control and entry restrictions at internal borders will be lifted. Internal border traffic refers to traffic between Finland and other Schengen countries. Changes will be made to external border control as well.

7.1.2021 | On 7 January, the Government decided to extend the restrictions on entry into the country until 9 February 2021. The COVID-19 epidemic is still clearly growing globally, and the number of infections is increasing in most countries more sharply than in Finland. It is therefore not justified to ease the restrictions until the new health security measures under preparation have been made sufficiently available.

19.8.2021 | Valtioneuvosto on hyväksynyt muutoksen asetukseen, jolla mahdollistetaan Suomeen saapuminen ilman tartuntatautilaissa säädettyjä terveysturvallisuustoimenpiteitä. Asetusmuutos tulee voimaan 23. elokuuta 2021.

15.10.2021 | Det krävs fortsättningsvis att personer som anländer till Finland (personer födda 2005 eller tidigare) ska visa upp ett tillförlitligt intyg över att de har haft covid-19 inom de sex senaste månaderna eller fått en godkänd vaccinationsserie mot covid-19 eller att de före ankomsten till Finland tagit ett tillförlitligt covid-19-test med negativt resultat.
