    8.6.2021 | The Government has amended the decree restricting the activities of restaurants and other food and beverage service businesses due to the COVID-19 epidemic. The restrictions will be eased as proposed by the Ministerial Working Group on Health and Social Services last week. In addition, Central Ostrobothnia will move from the community transmission phase to the acceleration phase.

  3. 331,500 unemployed jobseekers in March - Finnish Government

    4.5.2021 | At the end of March, a total of 331,500 unemployed jobseekers were registered at the Employment and Economic Development Offices and municipalities participating in the local government pilots on employment. This represents an increase of 22,500 from the previous year. The number of unemployed jobseekers increased by 4,400 from the previous month. Of the unemployed jobseekers, 162,200 were customers of municipalities participating in the local government pilots on employment.

  4. Changes to value added taxation in e-commerce - Finnish Government

    25.2.2021 | The proposal would remove the tax exemption of small imported online purchases. In future, value added tax would also be collected for shipments valued EUR 22 or less that are imported from outside the EU. Changes would also be made to distance selling within the EU. The government proposal would also reduce the administrative burden on companies regarding value added tax.

    23.2.2021 | In their informal video meeting on 23 February, the EU ministers for European affairs discussed preparations for the informal video meeting of the members of the European Council and exchanged views on the European Democracy Action Plan. The ministers were also briefed on the state of play with regard to EU–UK relations and on the preparations for the Conference on the Future of Europe. Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Tytti Tuppurainen represented Finland at the meeting.

  7. Finland declares a state of emergency - Finnish Government

    1.3.2021 | The Government, in cooperation with the President of the Republic, has declared a state of emergency in Finland due to COVID-19. In its plenary session on Monday 1 March, the Government declared that the country is in a state of emergency as referred to in section 3, paragraph 5 of the Emergency Powers Act. The state of emergency will enter into force immediately.

  8. Business Finland to accept applications on hydrogen projects as part of the Sustainable Growth Programme - Finnish Government

    11.6.2021 | Finland will participate in creating a European value chain for the hydrogen economy (hydrogen IPCEI) and will launch a call for applications on related projects for companies. Companies will have until 4 July to present to Business Finland their projects, which are linked to European networks and which will speed up the production of clean hydrogen and the development of new uses for hydrogen.
