  3. Results of two-year pre-primary education trial published - Finnish Government

    14.1.2026 | The Ministry of Education and Culture carried out a two-year pre-primary education trial in a total of 148 municipalities between 2021 and 2024. Altogether 37,357 children took part. They were placed in the trial group and control group by drawing lots. Parents, carers and teachers were satisfied with the trial and the two-year pre-primary education trial slightly increased the participation rate of five-year-olds.

  4. Support for management of sudden structural changes and development of international capabilities of SMEs - Finnish Government

    18.3.2021 | On 18 March, the Government granted Naantali and the Kemi-Tornio region EUR 600,000 and EUR 1.1 million, respectively, for the management of sudden structural changes. At the same time, the Lahti region was granted the remaining portion of the EUR 1.065 million additional funding already proposed to it. In addition, South Finland and Western Finland received funding to develop the international capabilities of SMEs.

  5. Commission approves Finland’s state aid scheme to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus outbreak - Finnish Government

    25.4.2020 | In its decision on 24 April 2020 the European Commission concluded that Finland’s state aid scheme associated with the coronavirus outbreak is compatible with the EU internal market. The aid scheme enables the introduction of national support measures in several administrative sectors in Finland. According to the Commission decision, the support may not exceed EUR 800,000 per company.

    9.9.2021 | The rescue and evacuation operation in Afghanistan was in many ways unique and historic. Finland evacuated more than 400 people from Afghanistan in three weeks. The relief team at Kabul Airport played a key role, but the input of dozens of people both in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Helsinki and in many foreign missions was also required.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread, and we do not yet have adequate measures available to replace the restrictions.
