    4.3.2021 | The Myllykoski hydropower plant will cease operating on Kuusamo’s River Kuusinkijoki, allowing threatened brown trout free access to extensive watercourse and lake areas. A binding letter of intent was signed in Helsinki on 4 March 2021. The power plant has been the only dam structure of the large catchment area. Koskienergia Koskivoima Oy will sell its power plant to the Kuusinkijoki kuntoon ry.

According to the instructions, the main contractor of the construction site is responsible for having a general risk assessment made. Everyone working at the construction site must comply with the assessment-based measures. In addition, other employers involved in the construction site assess the risks of their operations.

    9.9.2021 | The rescue and evacuation operation in Afghanistan was in many ways unique and historic. Finland evacuated more than 400 people from Afghanistan in three weeks. This was possible through cooperation with national and international actors and between different departments of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The relief team at Kabul Airport played a key role, but the input of dozens of people both in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Helsinki and in many foreign missions was also required.
