  8. 30.10.2025 | On 30 October, the Ministerial Finance Committee decided to support a proposal to provide EUR 11 million in funding to the civil defence coalition led by Finland and Ukraine. The proposal was prepared in the administrative branch of Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio.   13. 23.10.2025 | The electricity tax on power used in data centres will move from the lower electricity tax category II to the general category I as of 1 July 2026. The general category tax is 2.24 cents per kilowatt-hour, compared to 0.05 cents in the lower category. This means the change will increase the electricity tax on data centres by 2.19 cents per kilowatt-hour. The reform will raise central government electricity tax revenue by EUR 47 million annually at 2026 levels.

  19. 22.12.2025 | On 22 December 2025, the Government adopted a decree on a new grant that employment authorities can use to help companies hire unemployed young people under 30 years of age. This grant is also known as the employment voucher or recruitment subsidy. The subsidy granted to a company covers half of the young person’s salary for six months, but no more than EUR 1,500 per month.
