  4. 28.8.2023 | A COVID-19 legislation ex post evaluation, prepared jointly by the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom, has been released. The report examines the temporary legislation put in place in 2020–2021 in the administrative branch of the Ministry of Transport and Communications in consequence of COVID 19. It also looks at the drafting of this legislation.

  5. 11.4.2022 | The Ministry of the Interior has sent out for comments a draft bill which lays down provisions on the authorities competent to counter terrorist content online. The proposal is related to the EU Regulation which aims to improve detection and removal of online content that incites to terrorist acts. The deadline for submitting comments on the proposal is 25 May 2022.

  6. 8.9.2022 | The Centre of Expertise in Immigrant Integration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment is involved in funding research conducted by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) that focuses on the health and wellbeing of people born abroad as well as services they receive. The data collected in the MoniSuomi study can be used to develop the promotion of integration and to improve the equality of the immigrant population.

  9. 18.2.2026 | The Ministerial Meeting of the International Energy Agency (IEA) will be held in Paris on 18–19 February 2026. At the meeting, energy ministers from around the world will assess the latest developments in the energy market and energy policy and the effects thereof on energy security, affordability and sustainability.   10. 30.6.2022 | The United Nations Ocean Conference was held in Lisbon from 27 June to 1 July 2022. At the Conference, states pledged to contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially that concerning life below water. Finland’s delegation was led by Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä. State Secretary Terhi Lehtonen and Permanent Secretary Juhani Damski attended the Conference as well.

  11. 29.11.2022 | On Tuesday 29 November, the European Commission will hold via video conference a High-Level Forum on legal pathways to protection. The Forum will discuss the resettlement of refugees, ways to promote admittance, and work-based complementary pathways to protection for refugees.   13. 24.5.2021 | The Ministry of the Interior has submitted the draft equality and non-discrimination action plan for rescue services for statements.   15. 12.11.2021 | Part of the Galileo satellite navigation system, the European Public Regulated Service (PRS) is scheduled to be introduced in Finland in 2024.   20. 21.11.2025 | The European Commission has selected communications projects to receive funding from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). In the fourth round of calls for proposals under the CEF Digital programme, five projects coordinated by Finnish operators received a total of around EUR 4.67 million in funding.
