3.12.2021 | All travellers arriving in Finland who were born in 2005 or earlier will be required to show a COVID certificate, or if they do not have such a certificate, they will have to undergo a COVID-19 test. The Government has issued a decree that repeals the Government Decree on exceptions to the obligation to present the EU Digital COVID Certificate or undergo a COVID-19 test.

15.10.2021 | People arriving in Finland who were born in 2005 or earlier will still be required to have a certificate of recovery from COVID-19 within the past six months, of a completed and approved course of COVID-19 vaccination or of a negative COVID-19 test taken before arrival in Finland.

22.7.2021 | On 22 July, the Government approved amendments to the decree aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19 infections to Finland from abroad. People arriving in Finland are required to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or of recovery from COVID-19 within the past six months. Those who show proof of one of the above will not be subject to other health security obligations upon arrival in Finland.

29.6.2021 | On 29 June, the Government decided on country-specific changes to the restrictions on entry into Finland on the basis of the epidemiological situation. Internal border controls will be lifted for Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein and Slovakia from 1 July.

8.7.2021 | The Government has decided to continue internal border control until 25 July to ensure the introduction of health security measures at borders. After this short transitional period, internal border control and entry restrictions at internal borders will be lifted. Internal border traffic refers to traffic between Finland and other Schengen countries. Changes will be made to external border control as well.

7.1.2021 | On 7 January, the Government decided to extend the restrictions on entry into the country until 9 February 2021. The COVID-19 epidemic is still clearly growing globally, and the number of infections is increasing in most countries more sharply than in Finland. It is therefore not justified to ease the restrictions until the new health security measures under preparation have been made sufficiently available.

31.8.2021 | Statsrådet har godkänt en ny förordning om undantagen från skyldigheten att visa upp ett corona-intyg och låta testa sig för corona vid ankomst från utlandet till Finland. Förordningen träder i kraft den 1 september 2021.

29.6.2021 | På basis av epidemiläget beslutade statsrådet den 29 juni om landspecifika ändringar i de restriktioner som gäller inresor till Finland. Gränskontrollen vid de inre gränserna avskaffas i fråga om Italien, Österrike, Liechtenstein, Tyskland, Slovakien och Tjeckien från och med den 1 juli.

Suomeen saapuvilta henkilöiltä edellytetään todistusta saadusta koronavirusrokotussarjasta tai kuuden kuukauden sisällä sairastetusta koronavirustaudista. Jos henkilöllä on esittää todistus jommastakummasta edellä mainitusta, ei hänellä ole Suomeen saapuessaan muita terveysturvallisuuteen liittyviä velvollisuuksia.

31.8.2021 | Valtioneuvosto on hyväksynyt uuden asetuksen poikkeuksista velvollisuuteen esittää koronatodistus ja osallistua koronavirustestiin Suomeen ulkomailta saapuessa. Asetus tulee voimaan 1. syyskuuta 2021.

22.7.2021 | Statsrådet beslutade den 22 juli om uppdateringar i förordningen, som syftar till att förhindra spridningen av coronavirussmitta från utlandet till Finland. Personer som anländer till Finland ska visa upp intyg över att ha blivit vaccinerade med en covid-19-vaccinationsserie eller över att ha genomgått coronavirussjukdom inom de senaste sex månaderna. Inresande som kan visa upp intyg över någotdera har inga andra skyldigheter som hänför sig till hälsosäkerheten vid ankomsten till Finland.

14.10.2021 | Inreserestriktionerna slopas för invånare i länderna och områdena på EU:s gröna lista. Dessutom öppnas Vainikkala gränsövergångsställe för persontrafik. Statsrådet fattade beslut i ärendet den 14 oktober och besluten träder i kraft den 18 oktober. De övriga inreserestriktionerna i trafiken över de yttre gränserna fortsätter fram till den 7 november. Man kan dock komma till Finland från vilket land som helst genom att visa upp ett godtagbart intyg över fullständig vaccinationsserie.

6.7.2021 | Tisdagen den 6 juli fattade statsrådet beslut om förordningen och om en modell som i fortsättningen tillämpas för att hindra coronaviruset från att spridas från utlandet med personer som anländer till Finland.

8.7.2021 | Statsrådet har beslutat att förlänga den inre gränskontrollen till den 25 juli för att säkerställa att hälsosäkerhetsåtgärderna vidtas. Efter den korta övergångsperioden upphör den inre gränskontrollen och inreserestriktionerna vid de inre gränserna. Med trafik över de inre gränserna avses trafik mellan Finland och Schengenländer. Det sker även ändringar i den yttre gränskontrollen.

7.1.2021 | Statsrådet beslutade den 7 januari att inreserestriktionerna fortsätter fram till den 9 februari 2021. Coronaepidemin fortsätter att tillta tydligt världen över, och i de flesta länder ökar antalet smittfall kraftigare än i Finland. Det är således inte motiverat att lätta på begränsningarna innan de kompenserande åtgärder som är under beredning finns att tillgå i tillräcklig utsträckning.
