8.4.2021 | By the resolution on promoting a circular economy adopted today, on 7 April, the Finnish Government committed to reducing the consumption of unrenewable natural resources. The resolution also restricts the use of renewable natural resources in Finland: the total consumption of domestic primary raw materials in 2035 will not exceed the level in 2015*. The resolution is based on a vision that in 2035 the Finnish economy will be based on a carbon-neutral circular economy society.

13.5.2025 | Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio will make an export promotion visit to Singapore and Malaysia on 19–23 May. The Minister will be accompanied by a delegation of some 30 companies.

12.3.2025 | Boosting assistance to Ukraine and strengthening European defence were key topics on the agenda when Prime Minister Petteri Orpo and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez met for discussions in Helsinki on Wednesday 12 March. While in Helsinki, Prime Minister Sánchez also met with President of the Republic Alexander Stubb.

15.5.2025 | The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has adopted a development policy investment strategy for 2025–2027. The strategy guides the use of the appropriation allocated to development policy loans and investments in accordance with the Government Report on International Economic Relations and Development Cooperation. The general terms and conditions for development policy loans and investments are published concurrently with the strategy.

1.10.2021 | Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä will travel to Expo 2020 Dubai with a business delegation on 4–7 October 2021. This is the first Team Finland export promotion visit by a Finnish minister since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Routila, the region has significant potential to become a new hub for bioeconomy and circular economy.

9.9.2024 | Prime Minister Petteri Orpo will travel to Brussels on Tuesday 10 September. There, he will meet with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, who has been elected to lead the new Commission as well. Prime Minister Orpo will then meet for discussions with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, who has also been elected for a new term.

12.4.2021 | The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment funds cooperation between the public and private sectors for innovations in circular economy.  A total of million euros has been earmarked for grants that should be used during a three-year period. The funding aims to create new connections between different operators, inspire new solutions for achieving carbon neutrality and support the economic recovery after the coronavirus pandemic.

11.10.2024 | The EU environment ministers will meet in Luxembourg on Monday 14 October.
