9.6.2026 | Prime Minister Petteri Orpo represented Finland at the Nordic-Baltic (NB8) Summit in Tallinn on Tuesday 9 June. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was in attendance, and Prime Minister Orpo also had a bilateral meeting with President Zelenskyy during the Summit. The agenda for the summit included Ukraine, European security, defence industry cooperation, competitiveness and the use of artificial intelligence.

29.4.2026 | In its meeting on Wednesday 29 April, the Ministerial Committee on EU Affairs discussed the issues on the agenda for the European Political Community (EPC) Summit, temporary protection for Ukrainians and the revision of the EU emissions trading system. The Ministerial Committee also outlined Finland’s positions for two council meetings taking place next week.

29.4.2026 | Prime Minister Petteri Orpo will represent Finland at the eighth summit of the European Political Community (EPC) to be held in the Armenian capital on Monday 4 May. The theme of the summit is Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe. Along with the heads of state or government of the countries involved in the EPC, representatives of EU institutions and the secretaries-general of NATO, the OSCE and the Council of Europe have been invited to the summit.

12.5.2026 | Prime Minister Petteri Orpo will represent Finland at the India-Nordic Summit in Oslo on Tuesday 19 May. On the same day, the Nordic prime ministers will also hold their own meeting on topical foreign and security policy issues.

18.3.2026 | In its meeting on Wednesday 18 March, the Ministerial Committee on European Union Affairs outlined Finland’s positions for the European Council meeting on 19–20 March and the Euro Summit to be held in connection with it. The ministerial committee also discussed the agenda for the next meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council, which will focus on trade.
