More than 8,000 new COVID-19 cases were reported between 22 and 28 November, which is more than 500 cases higher than in the previous week.     16.9.2021 | The number of new COVID-19 cases has been on a slow decline for the past four weeks. The total number of new cases reported between 6 and 12 September was 3,119. This is about 750 cases fewer than the week before when the figure was 3,887. The epidemic continues to spread especially among unvaccinated 20–49-year-olds.

    11.2.2021 | Valtioneuvosto päätti 11. helmikuuta eräistä muutoksista maahantulon rajoituksiin 15.2. alkaen. Tautitilanteen perusteella Suomi ei enää rajoita maahantuloa Islannista. Maahantulon rajoitukset palautetaan Ruandan asukkaille Ruandasta Suomeen saapuvassa liikenteessä. Lisäksi Lapissa länsirajalla sekä Suomen itärajalla rajoitetaan tiettyjen rajanylityspaikkojen aukioloaikoja. Rajoitukset ovat voimassa 25.2. saakka.

Det rapporterade antalet fall per vecka har fördubblats jämfört med månadsskiftet oktober-november, då det konstaterades cirka 4 200 nya fall vecka 43 och cirka 5 200 fall vecka 44. Också testningsaktiviteten har ökat i flera veckors tid. Belastningen på den specialiserade sjukvården har varit på samma höga nivå sedan oktober, och belastningen på intensivvården har fördubblats jämfört med slutet av oktober.

Enligt den nuvarande bedömningen är det fortfarande möjligt att uppnå en vaccinationstäckning på 80 procent före utgången av oktober, förutsatt att vaccinationstakten inte avtar.
