23.8.2021 | Utrikesministeriet bereder en utvidgning och förstärkning av Finlands utrikesrepresentation. Nu bereds öppnandet av en ny ambassad i Senegals huvudstad Dakar. Enligt planen ska ambassaden inleda sin verksamhet under 2021. Utrikesrepresentationen utvidgades senast i september 2020 när Finland återinvigde sin ambassad i Manila i Filippinerna. Utöver Dakar förbereder Finland för närvarande också öppnandet av en ambassad i Qatars huvudstad Doha.

23.8.2021 | The Ministry for Foreign Affairs is making preparations to expand and strengthen the network of Finnish missions abroad. A new embassy will be opened in Dakar, Senegal. The embassy would start operations at some point later this year. In September 2020, Finland reopened its embassy in Manila, the Philippines. In addition to Dakar, Finland is currently preparing to open a mission in the capital of Qatar, Doha.

3.12.2021 | Republikens president Sauli Niinistö har i dag stadfäst en ändring av republikens presidents förordning om utrikesförvaltningen. Ändringen gäller placeringsorterna för Finlands beskickningar utomlands och de konsulära tjänster som tillhandahålls vid dem, och den träder i kraft den 10 december 2021. Genom ändringen inrättas en finsk ambassad i Senegals huvudstad Dakar och en i Qatars huvudstad Doha.

27.5.2022 | Utrikesministeriet fortsätter arbetet med att utvidga och stärka nätverket av beskickningar i enlighet med regeringsprogrammet. Ambassaden i Islamabad i Pakistan som stängdes 2012 på grund av att antalet beskickningar skars ner öppnas igen i höst. Finland öppnar också ett nytt generalkonsulat i Mumbai, Indien.

3.12.2021 | Today, the President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö approved an amendment to the Decree of the President of the Republic on the Foreign Service. The amendment concerning the locations of Finland’s diplomatic missions and the provision of consular services in the Diplomatic Service will enter into force on 10 December 2021. With the amendment, embassies of Finland will be established in Dakar, Senegal, and in Doha, Qatar, as of 10 December 2021.

14.1.2022 | At the presidential session on Friday 14 January, the President of the Republic appointed Counsellor for Foreign Affairs Pekka Voutilainen to serve as Head of the Embassy of Finland in Qatar.

27.5.2022 | In line with the Government Programme, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will continue to expand and strengthen its network of missions. The Finnish Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, which was closed in 2012 due to the reduction of the network of missions, will be reopened in the autumn. Finland will also open a new Consulate General in Mumbai, India.
