Preparation of the 2017 budget started on Wednesday, 10 August, with internal discussions at the Ministry of Finance. The talks continued on Thursday with Minister of Finance Petteri Orpo explaining the main principles of the draft budget. A proposal of the Ministry of Finance for the draft budget will be released on Friday, 12 August.

The budget session between the Ministry of Finance and other ministries will take place next week and the Government budget session will convene from 31 August to 1 September. The draft 2017 budget will be released on 19 September.
