- The Finnish Government strongly condemns last night's racist protests against asylum seekers who had entered the country. Violence or the threat of violence is always to be condemned, Prime Minister Juha Sipilä, Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini and Minister of Finance Alexander Stubb said.
Finland is an international, open and tolerant country whose vast majority of population is positive towards immigrants.
The Finnish Government and authorities will continue to monitor the situation closely. The Government's ministerial working group on migration will discuss the incident at its next meeting.
