Awards
The Prime Minister’s Office is responsible for organising celebrations to commemorate the anniversary of Finland’s independence and other historical milestones.
Proposals for honorary titles by the Title Board are prepared at the Prime Minister’s Office. The Prime Minister’s Office is also responsible for putting together proposals for conferrals of the Orders of the White Rose of Finland and the Lion of Finland within its administrative branch. The proposals are then sent from the Prime Minister’s Office to the Orders for consideration.
In addition, the Prime Minister’s Office presents proposals for the arrangement of state funerals to the Government. This practice has been in place since the end of 1989.

Honorary titles
Finnish citizens can be awarded honorary titles in public recognition of their services to society.
Decorations
Decorations are awarded by the various orders in question.
State funerals
State funerals are currently organised, or paid for from state funds, for deceased presidents.
