Minister Rehula will attend the Nordic Council Session in Copenhagen

Juha Rehula, Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services, will attend the Nordic Council Session in Copenhagen on 2 November. Finland is holding the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2016.

Minister Rehula will meet parliamentary representatives and present health policy and equality reports of the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Minister Rehula will also meet the Committee for Welfare in the Nordic Region, one of the Nordic Council’s committees. The meeting will deal with, for example, actions against interpersonal violence, sexism and hate speech, which are key issues for the Nordic Council of Ministers for Gender Equality during Finland’s Presidency.

Interpersonal violence and good practices to prevent it will be discussed, among other events, at a conference called “Confronting gendered violence – Focus on perpetrators” on 30 November – 3 December 2016 in Helsinki.
